Hello there my Neighbours! been a hot minute at the fashion corner and we have been really busy (exhales) it took a while to agree on this, should we tell or not? should we wait till the product is finished and polished Or should we share now, messy edges and all, and take you along on the journey?
The answer was clear, we spill. Because you deserve a front-row seat into what we’re building something we believe in deeply and are working tirelessly to bring to life
OwambeFashion started out as a thouhgt. playing dress up games that never really reflected our skin, personality, culture and style. i mean not many people know it but games are also a big way of programming the mind and a persons style tells vey much of who they are, so we thougth why not do it? why not create Africa’s first fashion styling game? truly african, rooted in culture and storeis happening here.
But then the idea grew, Why stop at just a dress-up game? What if it could also be a phygital marketplace where play meets commerce? Imagine styling yourself in the game with real pieces from your favorite African designers, or discovering new brands from young creators with beautiful ideas. You play, you connect, and if you love what you see you can shop it too! Now that what we call style at your finger tips!
In a world of AI driven fashion, VR and immersive shopping are becoming a norm, Africa faces a deeper challenge, dressing her own people. With over 200 million people on the continent, only a handful of designers are able to serve those immediately around them. Our mission at owambe is to foster vibility, collaborations and cross border commerce between african countires one fashion brand at a time.Fashion is more than luxury. It is a language, a way of coding culture, and a vessel for preserving identity. When African fashion thrives, our stories, traditions, and creativity thrive with it.
We’ve come a long way already further than we ever imagined at the start and we are deeply proud of the progress we’ve made. But this is only the beginning. We ask for your support in building this vision, because the future of African fashion belongs to all of us .
As we say over here, the ‘A’ in Africa stands for Attitude, Atarodo and All things extra!! Yours in truth and threads.
