Hello, 2026. Turning the page, not the culture

Is the party over?
No, I think I can still hear the DJ playing somewhere in the distance.

Friends and neighbours, happy new year. I wish I could say this in different African languages, but let me not be that father who shows favouritism. One greeting, straight from the heart, to everyone who has been part of this journey so far.

Now, hold on before we go too far.
Which outfit did you rock during the festive season?
Because I’m hoping, truly hoping, that African designers smiled a little wider because of you.

Yes, 2026 is here.

For some, it’s the year of taxes.

For others, it’s the year of “let’s just survive and see.”

But for us at Owambe, this is the year our game gets played by you.

Last year, we saw the power of community. We saw how you subscribed massively, and most importantly, we saw how you cheered us on.

Moving forward from where we stopped in 2025, we have finally turned the page to addressing the feedback we received from our first set of testers. During the festive period, we had our first beta test by selected candidates, and we received so much useful feedback.

We have started working on this feedback to give you a smooth experience when we eventually launch.

We’re still taking feedback and collating testers, so please volunteer here.

If you believe in African creativity, if fashion excites you, if games are your thing, or if you simply enjoy being part of something from the very beginning, we’d love for you to volunteer as a tester.

This year, we are locked in.
Thank you for carrying this vision with us into 2026.
The music is still playing, and we’re just getting started.

Until next time, my neighbours, remember, as we say over here: the A in Africa stands for Attitude, Atarodo, and All Things Extra!
